Prayers That Avail Much- Faith and Hope Promoting Ideas and Prayers

I know that God lives, and loves us, his children, with a love and righteousness that is beyond anything we can know in this earthly life. I know that there are Prayers That Avail Much, this I can state with absolute integrity and sincerity, because I have personally experienced a divine love and righteousness, that is wonderful and awesome: beyond my ability to adequately describe. The glory that is God our father we cannot expect to fully understand at this time. We lack the perception that would be required unless a higher power opens our understanding.

How wonderful it is to feel The Holy Spirit in our lives, and in our hearts. It is the transforming influence that changes our whole outlook on life. Our thoughts and beliefs change, and they become more positive, more hopeful and more inspired as we lift our perception to a higher sphere, and we come to know the miracle that we are, and the miracle of the promises made to us. Jesus said ” Eye hath not seen nor ear heard the blessings that are in store for those who love me”

The Prayers that avail much are not mere words alone. These prayers, are the prayers of the heart fuelled with faith and love. Trusting wholly on him who is mighty to save, whose arm is extended out to us. We are moved by the spirit to a higher plane. We feel and see things differently. We view the world through different filters, from a different perspective.

Our prayers are always answered, but they may not be answered necessarily in the way that we would choose, or in a way that we can fully appreciate. Still we trust in God, we know that our prayers will be answered, in a way and in a time that will be most beneficial to us. God is our father, he loves us and wants the best for us, sometimes we may think we know what is best. When we think on our puny experience and intelligence, in comparison to God’s infinite wisdom, and infinite experience, we are as nothing.

Pray for faith, faith is one of the basic building blocks of eternal life, and eternal joy. Prepare yourself, make yourself ready for your own prayers that avail much. Without faith your prayers are hollow words caught in the wind, blown and scattered. You may ask, “how do I develop Faith such as this?”

We would do nothing if we did not have faith. We live each day having faith and hope that what we are doing will produce that which we desire.

There are occasions when we do things that are totally contrary to the results we want, when we do this, we exercise faithlessness and we reap the reward of disappointment and low self-esteem.

Pray for the quality of faith, that will enable you to become the type of person whose faith and devotion will bring forth an increased association with the Holy Spirit. This in turn strengthens your faith, and increases your gratitude, love and your desire to live by the commandments of God. God who loves you, more than you know, has a plan for you, that you may grow and evolve, to become Holy and Faithful, filled with Love and Charity, which is the pure love of Christ.

Jesus said we would recognize those who love him, they would keep his commandments. The prayer of the heart is heard. The first and greatest commandment is “Love the Lord our God, with all your heart, might, mind and strength and the second is like unto it, love your neighbour as yourself”  How beautifully simple, and easy to understand. Here then is the litmus test, examine your own heart and desires, are they aligned with the words of the Lord?

Where Attention Goes Energy Flows

Where Attention Goes Energy Flows

Prayers that avail much: If you could have anything you wanted, anything at all, and the only thing you would have to do is pray for it. What would you pray for? would you pray for a new house, new car, new job or a million dollars in the bank, what would it be?

If you are suffering from an illness or have a disability. Would you pray that you would be healed and that you might enjoy good health?

Might you pray for someone other than yourself? A relative or neighbour who is going through distressing circumstances. This option does seem to resonate at a higher level. “For as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethern, ye have done it unto me.”

The reason I ask you this question is because I have asked myself this question, and it draws my attention to what I am focussing on. How do you assign your time? What priority do you give to our creator and our God? Where does Our Heavenly Father register in the hierarchy of our desires?

I seem to be asking a lot of questions here. Asking good questions empower us, they help us to stop, and take stock of what we are doing, and what we are giving our energy to. They help us to re-evaluate what is important to us and to which voice we list to be influenced by. Good questions focus our minds action, actions borne from decisions that express our values and beliefs. Where do you stand in your relationship with God is it where you want it to be? Would that maybe be a good subject to pray about if we could have anything at all? How would our life be different if we enjoyed a rust free connection to the Holy Spirit?

Here is an exercise for you to help you clarify your values and to recognize what you really want.

Write down on a piece of paper a list of the things you would really like to be, do or have. When you have completed your list, ask yourself what would having that thing give you, what would it do for you? How would it make you FeeL? Make a list of your answers. Try and get about ten, your second set of answers reveal what is important to you. Typical answers are, security, happiness, love, connection, health, freedom, family, God, peace of mind, joy, faith and others that hopefully you come up with. Ok, what you want to do now is create a list in order of importance. The way that we do this is to ask “if I could only have one of these things what would it be?”

For example; lets say freedom and health were on your list. If you could only have one of these things which one would it be? You can’t have both-you must make a choice. Which one is most important to you. Do this with your whole list so that you have the most important to the least important. What you have now is the hierarchy of your values.

This is useful to you when you are setting goals for yourself and when you are making difficult decisions. When you are planning your goals make sure that you goals are in harmony with your highest values. When making difficult decisions make sure that your decision is not contravening your values. Knowing your values helps you to act in an authentic way; being true to yourself.

Let you attention and energy go to your values, and be true to yourself. Here is my suggestion, align your values with the values of God and your reward will be the fruit of the spirit. This blessing has an eternal perspective and is ennobling and cleansing.

To feel the spirit of God in your heart and in your mind. I cannot imagine anything greater.

I pray that my desires are sufficiently well educated that I may not ask amiss, and that the desire of my heart may be in alignment with God’s will for me. I hope I have given you food for thought, we spend so much time and energy on things which are transient, here today gone tomorrow and forget about the things that are really important. The purpose of our earthly life and our part in it. To become the best we can be.

I invite you to share your thoughts and if you have any questions I would love to hear them.

Welcome to Prayers that Avail much

Announcement: I Want to Feel Good, I Want to Feel God.

When our actions are in harmony with our beliefs and convictions, we feel happy. When we feel we are acting in alignment with God’s desire for us, this belief brings us peace and satisfaction. A great quote that I love is, “Man is that he may have joy” I love that quote I feel it is true. I want to feel good, I want to feel God. When we feel the influence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, there is nothing quite like it; we are touched with an influence from a higher sphere that softens our hearts and brings into our souls a peacefulness and a love that is truly beautiful, our minds are enlightened with the realization that we are not alone and we feel the desire to put our lives into alignment with God’s purpose for us. When we do this, we refresh our spirits and lift our gaze a little higher, we focus on those things which our great exemplar, Jesus Christ possessed in abundance.

It occurs to me, that there are many qualities of feeling good. I have been blessed to experience good feelings in many ways, feeling good, having accomplished a task or a goal, feeling good going on vacation, leaving work behind for a week or so. This is not the quality of feeling good of which I speak. When I speak of feeling God this quality of feeling is more of love and connection, righteousness, kindness, caring a sense that all is well.

Many people, seek happiness in doing that which is detrimental to others, doing things that are selfish and self serving, lying a little or cheating a little and justifying those actions with all the excuses under the sun. “Everybody does it” “Nobody will ever know” etc, delighting in taking advantage of others or getting one over on them. Although they may rejoice in thier temporary victory, these kinds of actions are contrary to the laws of happiness and fulfilment. The accumulation of money or material possessions can give you satisfaction and can also fill you with an unhealthy pride, if you esteem yourself “More” than others because you possess more things.

The Pharoh’s of ancient Egypt could not take thier possessions with them, yes they could deny them temporarily to the world, until the grave robbers found them. You cannot take material things into a spiritual world, all your earthly possessions will wither away, as time goes by. The measure of a man is what he has become, through the thoughts and actions of his life. The qualities and character that he has nurtured, that is what he will take with him, because these things are spiritual. As we evolve through living the process that God has given us, we develop the ennobling qualities that make us more like our Heavenly Father, and in so doing we experience true joy. Wickedness never was happiness, and is contrary to the way of happiness, those who seek happiness by engaging in that which is wrong have been deceived, or have deceived themselves.

One of God’s great gifts is free agency, the right to choose whatsoever we will focus our thoughts and actions upon, what thoughts to hold in our minds, until they are translated into actions. Our thoughts are the seeds of our actions. The responsibility for the thoughts and actions we choose are ours, and ours alone, blaming other people or external circumstances are disempowering, only you have the power to change your life. The glorious message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is that you have the power to change, and that you have the greatest of all coaches in your corner. He will make up for your shortcomings, but you must play your part and stretch yourself, to be the best you can be.

The Grace of Jesus Christ, is an enabling power that comes to us after we have done our best, to change that bad habit or break that addiction or any other thing that denies us the happiness and joy that is our birthright as sons and daughters of God.

I speak from my own experience, so I know that this is true.
